Armor plate BRO-CAP6R-M-SIC-B
Armor plates of the highest (sixth) level of protection as per DSTU 8782:2018, which can withstand three hits by B-32 armor-piercing rounds or other rounds of the same caliber, as well as protect from damage by various fragmentation, ricochets and shrapnel, along with the bullets rated for the lower levels as per DSTU 8782:2018.
Level 6 armor plates are made in two sizes: M (250x300mm) and L (260x330mm)
The composite is formed by combining ceramic elements of silicon carbide (SiC) and a pressed substrate of UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene). Each of the composite materials is designed to perform a specific function when a bullet hits: the ceramic layer acts as a destroyer of the penetrating element of the bullet (mainly a heat-strengthened penetrator), the UHMWPE substrate prevents bullet residues from penetrating the armor plate and absorbs most of the energy from the hit and distributes it evenly.
The armor plate has been tested in a certified laboratory [withstands 3 hits by 7B3-323 (7.62x54r BZ2 armor-piercing incendiary) rounds]. A copy of the test report can be provided with the plates upon request.
All Bronyx armor plates are manufactured at our own production facilities in Ukraine
These plates have a standardized Shooter's Cut shape (i.e., with beveled corners) and a convenient anatomical bend of the R400 standard (400 mm radius).
M — dimensions: 250x300 mm, weight: 2.9 kg, chestsize: up to 110 cm (+-5 cm). This is a standardized size that will fit most plate carriers.
Please note that the larger plates (L) have the same layout as the smaller ones (M) and have the same ballistic properties; the greater weight is only an indicator of the larger area of the armor element itself.
Important! If your carrier/vest does not have a damper pad between the chest and the armor plate, we recommend using a damper that is inserted behind the plate. The damper helps reduce the armor's back-spalling deformation that occurs when hit by objects with high kinetic energy.
